Tommy’s car has had a pretty heavy couple of months – spinning a bearing and then being t-boned by Juz in the space of a season.

Before the latter but following the former the car sat in Jack’s carport waiting for the party shirts to come off and the suspicious engine knock it had developed, investigated.

When this finally happened the idea was that everyone would come over and yeah, help. People kinda did but really didn’t.

With the help of our mate Jindy the work got done, and although the big end bearings were cactus it turned out that the crank was perfect. A quick bearing swap was to give the engine a new lease on death.

So while some played with themselves and others played with horses, Tommy’s SR saw the light.

Jon took a little time to visit an old friend – his ongoing dragging BN Sil80 project which at the time was hibernating out the back.

And pretty soon the job was done. We’re not really sure why reaper was there

PARTY PROBLEM

As with most of the crew, Tommy had entered Winton Matsuri earlier in the year. So the freshly fixed absolute beater of an S13 was strapped down to someone’s trailer and dragged 9 hours south to Victoria.

The engine survived it’s trial by fire however the shell met it’s maker when Tommy span and Juz couldn’t get out of the way, at all. Tommy reckons it hurt, although surprisingly  Juz’s S14 was still pretty swell after the bang.

The cage Jon threw together for Tommy worked so rad. Some dude on the internet told Tommy his caged sucked a few weeks before this happened, so yeah eat a dick guy.

Tommy was sweet but the car was boned, so pretty soon after Jon ran down to Victoria again, this time bringing back with him a present.

As you can see it’s an S14/180 hybrid wearing a BN style kit and painted in fruit loops.

It’s already been tubbed and a tube rad support fitted, which speeds things up heaps. Thanks to whichever poor soul built this shell, and sorry in advance for what is about to happen to your car.

Giant flares will probably end up being discarded in favor of widebody, although not right away seeing as Tom ended up selling his 10/12j Works in order to foot the bill for a new shell/Mona. Plan is to just swap everything over and probably crash this one too.

So the road to party has begun. The old shell is pretty much stripped and the council complaints are rolling in. Deal with it, planet earth

A lot has changed since we last covered this car, the lead up to Winton Matsuri was quite intense, after spinning bearing’s drifting at Eastern Creek just 2 weeks beforehand.
A replacement engine was built and tuned, diff removed rebuilt and installed, bending up a half cage and new harnesses.
But with 16hr days and a little help from the team it all came together.

18×9.5 +20 (5mm slip) and 18×10 + 15 Rota Grids make for near perfect fitment.

Yes its still road rego’d.. for now.

Ryan still rocks his Traum kit, but at Winton his side skirts took quite a beating… thank God for cable ties and Juzzo’s supreme fiberglassing skills.

Billy installed a set of 3inch twin blast pipes, with sonic laser beam Ka-Pow death ray.

With a clear and focussed mind, Woods is determined to get it done and running properly this time, and avoid being screwed again. Fresh motor, and a re-wire by the wiz Pistol Pete, this time we plan on firing on all 6.

Ben’s new wheels are ridiculous.

A bunch of the crew rocked up throughout the day today, to lend a hand, getting the motor swapped, fitted, and running, if we were lucky.

Waz’s car was chilling in HQ too. Hopefully it won’t be too long before it’s back on track either.

We were constantly reminded why RB25s were not designed for S13s. Cozy to say the least.

Wouldn’t be Woods’ car if things went smoothly, but we got it in, and some of the electricals are back together, but theres a few bugs still plaguing us.

One of the cardinal rules of fitment, install the fenders to match the wheels, not the other way round.

Not the usual wheel style choice, but it gives it that classy feeling, like velvet ropes, leather-bound books and a well aged Cognac.

Jono has been building a name for himself in roll cage fabrication, and you can see why.

We cant wait to see what he does next.

So every year we work hard and get as many cars there as we can, the weeks before get pretty crazy, everyone pitches in, lots of late nights and early mornings, but we think its worth it.

Juzzo had the misfortune to blow two trailer tyres, right down the road from winton, to add to the drama a police car just happened to be passing by when he had unloading the 14 and was pulling it over to the side of the road.

After a little explaining he was free to go though.

All set up and ready to go.

Reaper had his L98 powered S14 running great. Well for most of the weekend anyway, a few hiccups with a faulty alternator and busted diff.

Though the weekend stayed dry and hot… and we mean fuckin’ hot for most of the time, there was still a little rain, a good time too cool down and mix it up.

Harley cutting sick in his ke70, he really stepped it up and proved himself worthy.

Nothing like drifting into the sunset.

Two day vic drift matsuri weekend at Victoria’s Winton Raceway.

Big ups to Vic Drift for putting on the amazing event, and all the fans for coming to support us.

BWaz, always the well prepared smug jerk, ready ages in advance, has managed to keep his cool, and put in some extra work.I could sit here and write an article for half an hour, but frankly I’m tired, and I’m hoping you mostly wanna see pictures. Solid diet of Creatine, The Jaberwocky is now widebody, and has JWaz’s VSKFs under the guard, till the new wheels arrive.

Fuel system’s in, and DMAX is on, but the front bar was sitting at home, so it’s just the URAS for these pics. Also, Benny is repping the Captain’s new gear, P Plate Clips. Genius!

The exhaust was an outdoor heater. Good times

What’s going on? 

Taking time out of his busy party routine, Josh has managed to make quite a bit of progress over the summer, with the engine now ready for final fitment.

As far as he’s concerned the body is finished, and the car will be making it’s track debut well before any kind of paint work even emerges on the horizon.

The suspension is wrapped too, with a tonne of lock released from the little Corolla – given the length of the KE70 wheel base, he’s probably going to need it!

While the engine is out both the cabin and bay have seen a coat of black paint. So much better than white, so much.

The change in hue has totally swapped out the mood that the interior holds. Cage has gone from impressive, to intimidating. Kinda scary now but everything will be OK.

Mechanically all it needs is a fuel system and a Haltech…

…and of course wiring. Aren’t cars fun?

This means that the next time you see the KE will be following it’s release upon the unsuspecting public, and wallpapers of the above (for the ladies) will be available at $10 a piece (no one rides for free).
