Unfortunately, after starting off the day with a few fun runs, Tommy D blew his power steering pump. After ditching the pump belt, he went out for a few more laps, giving the arms a solid workout, but not for long, before the turbo decided to crap itself. With none in stock nearby, Tommy was out for the rest of the day.

After years of slaving on everybody elses cars, Dale has finally got his own car sorted, and has seen some solid track time lately. Getting a hang of his 1JZ powered S13, Dal was mostly trouble free for the day, besides his coolant, which kept seeming to disappear, and so shared his car with Jack for the day.

Revision of the cooling setup is gonna see Dallas advancing real quick. Shakas.

As usual, the Vash was out there killin’ it, filming for Sydney Motorsport Park, and more recently, Sony.

Juzzo pushed though a tonne of setbacks, to have a real solid day on track. After seizing a turbo, snapping a rear knuckle, losing boost, losing dump pipe bolts, and whatever else I’ve forgotten, Juz fixed it all, and continuously produced on track.

Schembri has a habit of making smoke.

Of course, one of the Waz’s had to turn up to rep for Pythoncock Labs aka Big Country Labs, and their huge wangs, so BWaz turned up with JWaz’s car for the arvo session, and didn’t take long, despite a bit of misfiring, to get the feeling in the 2-steppin’ Sileighty, and kill it.

We’ve had a lot of fun at these South Circuit days, and you’ll see us at many to come. Got a bunch more photos on film, for the hipsters and hypebeasts, but I gotta develop that sometime.

TommyD was in and out of the pits as well, broken rocker, cracked rear knuckle, blown fuses, dodgy wiring and running out of fuel, but still had a killer time.

Beau had little gremlins as well, a rather bad misfire, but found plenty of time to talk to his fans.

Sorry for the lack of on track shots as i was shooting video, but there are plenty of killer shots out there!

Another Winton Matsuri done and dusted, not a huge amount of track time for the boys, due to all the car issues, but we all had plenty of fun, and are well and truly in need of sleep and recovery.

Don’t forget, there will be a small video from the weekend in the making, so keep an eye out for it and ALSO we are pushing our under paid child slaves to get the shop back up and running with stock!

The day started with Wood’s doing his normal drivers brief (which if you have never witnessed you definitely should) it goes something along the line of….”when the lights are green GO… TRY KILL YOURSELF, when the lights are orange SLOW DOWN somebody is dying and when they are red STOP somebody is dead….”

After the instructions from Wood’s the grid was lined up and in usual fashion of these days we were in for one of the most chilled, free flowing drift days that exist in NSW.

Jack was back after a crazy few days…he lost 2 engines in 2 weeks and put in a mammoth effort to get the car ready and tuned by the day…in true Jack fashion he started the day in an epic way, frying tyres and smiling around every corner of the track, unfortunately at around 10:30AM his new motor span bearings and ended his day….much to my surprise as Jack limped the car through the pits he was still smiling and told me later that the 4-5 car drift trains where “one of the best moments of his life”

Tommy D was back in the mix in his freshly built 230kW 180SX, driving the best ever has until he spat a turbo, unfortunately ending the day for him he really got cooking. With a full day under his belt we expect Tom to be right at home in his new ride.

Ryan in his Chaser was out to bake some tyres, and bake he did…I was lucky enough to jump in with Ryan for quite a few laps and I can tell you that he has such a fluent and relaxed driving style and is so quick especially considering his car is on the larger side of life……and don’t get me started on the sound it makes….think Angry cammed 1JZ with external gate bashing limiter……and well thats exactly what it is…

Biggie was out in the Zebra again, complete with newly acquired rear peep hole after his wall slapping incident at Eastern Creek, while riding with Biggie I was actually surprised at how quick his car picks up speed mid corner, whilst still being super consistent , I don’t t think Biggie had a single problem all day!

If you haven’t been under a rock the last few weeks you would have seen the shots of J.waz’s Sileighty with his new Driftworks gear installed….It is now one of the lowest cars I have ever seen….And yes he drives it at this crazy height….Under full noise the front/dump pipe makes contact with the ground…measured at about 2 finger widths while stationary….

Ive said it before but in all honesty these days are so relaxed and the amount of track time the cars see is insane….with a few of the other boys out still building/fixing there cars we invited some close friends down to party…

Joey in his ever reliable, unbelievable RB24DET 4 Door r32 was driving hard all day, Tyler in his 4AGE Ke70 was throwing his car around all day with amazingly high entry speeds ( the turbo guys would out pace him on the entry straight away only to have him on their bumper mid corner pushing them around the whole track), and newcomer Ollie was shredding in his 180 all day…seriously shredding!

Big shout out to Woods for organising the day and everyone involved in making it run so smooth…

Oh Pete…

Famous for throwing a six-figure built drift car hard against any wall he could find, ultimately the time Pete spent with his 180SX was by and large on the tools and in the wallet, rather than at the track.

Fighting this uphill battle for longer than most would withstand, Peter at last decided to part out the car and jump behind the wheel of something ready to hit the track in reliable fashion. Hit and Run is and has always been about driving first – building cars is often little more than an annoying necessity, so we’re pumped on Pete’s decision!

That being said it was sad to see the incredible NUR powered 180SX reduced to a shell ready for sale. What a car it had turned out to be; quite literally a rolling wish list of all the most bad ass pieces of drift-related hardware anyone had ever manufactured. Pete had created a masterpiece, and now in the name of drifting he’s putting it to rest.

Few drift cars this side of top tier competition will see attention to detail like Pete poured into this 180, a leading fact as to why our own Brett Reid ended up deciding to buy the car off him as a complete roller.

So out came the engine and seats, as did the wheels and a few other bits and pieces. Brett and Pete worked out a deal which saw Brett part ways with his complete L98 powered S14 in return for the engine-less 180, albeit with the complete S15/GTR rear end, OS Giken RB25 gearbox and insane wiring fit out.

Shortly before this happened Pete rebuilt the motor with Nitto internals, fitting up a twin-scroll GTX3076 turbo package at the same time. Those with keen minds might remember that this motor was actually Brett’s in the first place, destined for the first incarnation of his black S14. Brett ended up trading the NUR 26 as a long motor with Pete for his complete 3076 twin scroll SR20DET a couple of years back, with Brett then doing a handful of days with the SR in his S14 before swapping it out for an L98, which Pete now owns. Confused yet?

So Peter’s immaculate conception is now Brett’s office. Pete’s an auto elec by trade, so it comes as no surprise that everything electrical in the car is invisible.

We’ve always loved this cage – everything you need, nothing you don’t. V shaped diagonal sets the design apart.

So Pete’s end of the deal saw him end up with the complete, running L98 S14 as a turn key. The shell was a little battered and the chassis bent after ADGP, so under mixed emotions he decided to re-shell before hitting the track.

The new shell is an S15, with the plan being to replicate the same quality that the 180SX had, albeit with a much simpler, driving-focused orientation. It’ll be wide body, have a basic cage and be powered by the complete driveline from the S14.

It’s going to be amazing, especially if Pete sticks to his guns and gets the 15 ready for Winton Matsuri in a handful of months.

As for the 180 shell – it’s already in Brett’s garage and slammed over his signature LXZ Kranze and getting ready for it’s new engine. Brett’s plan is to step away from flash of the camera and focus on developing his driving with a basic TD06 SR20DET package, backed by an OS Giken 5 speed and managed by a ViPeC. “I just want to have fun again,” he says, admitting that he didn’t always enjoy the attention that came with being the guy with the V8. We know he did.

Of course nothing Brett Reid owns can wear anything but BN Sports, so the aero will likely change pretty quickly too.

When friday came, it was time to get the shell down to HQ so the boys could get as much done, over the long weekend.

In the 2 odd years that Jono has owned this shell, it has come a long way, from the skeleton he bought off Jack Sparrow, with his own flavour of custom fabwork throughout, and in recent times, a lick of paint in-n-out from Magnet. Gold inside, red outside, looks like the crown Jewels. Seems appropriate on the Queens Jubilee.

The main focus for the weekend was finishing up fabwork on the exhaust…

of which Jono has been painstakingly lobstering the entirety of, over the past while.

BWaz is the mod-gremlin, and is always hiding somewhere in the factory making or fixing something. The man decided he wanted to fix a few small leaks, so out came the motor, and on went some fresh paint. Unfortunately, we farewell the Fruit Loops Party Pack rocker cover. RIP.

HnR is doin’ the drifties, mango dyslexias at Monas, and Instagram.

With the fresh VS-KF rears already on, work was goin down up front on JWaz’s rig, to make way for the fresh fronts.

BN BOOGIE

Meanwhile, in recent times, Big Al got sick of being the last of the NA Warrior’s and has been going through a full revamp and turbo conversion.

Most of the work is now done. Shouldn’t be too far off either.

Job done. No more needed.

The boys have been making it to a bunch of skidpan days lately, and all the cars are still alive, however BWaz has made a habit of Corolla Hunting.

Our invitational track day at Wakefield recently could have been blessed with better weather, rather than cutting video/photo action short, but it’s always good to see our boy Mez from Wreck ‘Em anyway. Hang out for some media coming from his way.

Reaper, or Repeater as some South Sydney kids misheard it, seems to find his way into every damn post.

Even if we didn’t get as much track time as hoped, we still found time for Maccas Breakfast,

shooting dice in the parking lot,

and obliterating trailer tyres.

Hopefully in not much time, everything will be in, lines will be run, wires laid, and we can debut Jono’s Sileighty to the world, no doubt to a Tupac soundtrack.

Tommy’s car has had a pretty heavy couple of months – spinning a bearing and then being t-boned by Juz in the space of a season.

Before the latter but following the former the car sat in Jack’s carport waiting for the party shirts to come off and the suspicious engine knock it had developed, investigated.

When this finally happened the idea was that everyone would come over and yeah, help. People kinda did but really didn’t.

With the help of our mate Jindy the work got done, and although the big end bearings were cactus it turned out that the crank was perfect. A quick bearing swap was to give the engine a new lease on death.

Toasty

So while some played with themselves and others played with horses, Tommy’s SR saw the light.

Jon took a little time to visit an old friend – his ongoing dragging BN Sil80 project which at the time was hibernating out the back.

And pretty soon the job was done. We’re not really sure why reaper was there

PARTY PROBLEM

As with most of the crew, Tommy had entered Winton Matsuri earlier in the year. So the freshly fixed absolute beater of an S13 was strapped down to someone’s trailer and dragged 9 hours south to Victoria.

The engine survived it’s trial by fire however the shell met it’s maker when Tommy span and Juz couldn’t get out of the way, at all. Tommy reckons it hurt, although surprisingly  Juz’s S14 was still pretty swell after the bang.

The cage Jon threw together for Tommy worked so rad. Some dude on the internet told Tommy his caged sucked a few weeks before this happened, so yeah eat a dick guy.

Tommy was sweet but the car was boned, so pretty soon after Jon ran down to Victoria again, this time bringing back with him a present.

As you can see it’s an S14/180 hybrid wearing a BN style kit and painted in fruit loops.

It’s already been tubbed and a tube rad support fitted, which speeds things up heaps. Thanks to whichever poor soul built this shell, and sorry in advance for what is about to happen to your car.

Giant flares will probably end up being discarded in favor of widebody, although not right away seeing as Tom ended up selling his 10/12j Works in order to foot the bill for a new shell/Mona. Plan is to just swap everything over and probably crash this one too.

So the road to party has begun. The old shell is pretty much stripped and the council complaints are rolling in. Deal with it, planet earth
